Use of Sketchup for Registration of Electronic Card Analysis

A very easy and economic toll to systematize the analysis of electronic card is the Sketchup software. It allows to import a jpeg file of the card and after can draw and annotate on the image. Is our suggestion to implement a local database for electronic repair.

Industry 4.0 in Textile Factories

The textile industry of north of Portugal is well know for the products quality. Especially in Europe and USA market the textiles made In Portugal it's a brand. This appreciation it is enhanced because the Portuguese mills have old know how, but also have, in last decades high standards of service and a great responsiveness and flexibility to costumer requests. However these references are rarely followed up by a functional organization and top technology.

In 2012, a study of University of Minho indicated that 77% of Portuguese textiles engineers did not have any knowledge or implementation about Lean organization. I think there wasn't great evolution since then. Now with the introduction of new technological concepts in top industries, namely industry 4.0, the Portuguese textiles face a new step which can increase more the gap between themselves and the edge industries. On the other hand I believe that this is an opportunity to make the definitive jump to an industry extremely well organized, technologically advanced and totally rethought. But will companies be prepared? I think it's all about have the right people.

Terry Towel Sewability - Contribution to Productivity

Sewability is a term little used in a universe of textile industry. In fact the sewability can to determine the quality and productivity, and this fact it's so much truth how much more heavy the tissue and how fast and automated the production. It's the case of terry towel production.

In modern plants of terry towel are used automated sewing machines with high speed heads. For that reason the set needle, tissue and thread has a dynamic which can not be neglected. The forces that needles can to be submitted reach easily 5.000cN and in these circumstances there is a big probability to broken the thread and to become the needle blunt. If that happen going to lose quality, maybe a rejection, but also or more important going to lose production because it will be necessary amend the thread, replace the needle and tune the head. The University of Minho have studied these theme in particular Hélder Carvalho, researcher of textile department which developed a equipment to measure the forces built-in.

ESP8266 What is?

ESP8266 is a SOC, System on Chip, with Wifi built-in. This chip have CPU at 80Mhz and have the option to operate to 160Mhz. To have a compare, Arduino Uno operates at 16Mhz, it is a stark diference.

ESP8266 have RAM with 32kBytes for instructions and 96kBytes for data. It also have ROM with 64kBytes and Flash memory with 512kBytes. The small ESP8266 have GPIO pins, I2C, SPI, UART, analogic input, PWM output and internal temperature sensor.

Programar Display I2C no Arduino

#include <LiquidCrystal_I2C.h>

#define I2C_ADDR 0x3F

Fonte: http://www.technologyreview.com.br/

In http://www.revistamanutencao.pt/

Startups. The Hidden Reality Behind the Numbers.

based in https://www.technologyreview.com

In recent years, business talk is talk of entrepreneurial start-ups. US companies based in Silicon Valley that received venture capital doubled between 2007 and 2012. Silicon Valley is a nest of digital technology companies that develop an astonishing variety of products and services.

This reality of supporting at new enterprises hides a less exciting reality. A group of researchers dedicated to the study of this issue in the United States. This group concluded that the number of companies with less than one year fell by 50% between 1978 and 2011, with the sharpest decline was in recent years. The number of workers assigned to these companies also decreases dramatically.

Google in Textile Industry

based in https://www.technologyreview.com

Incrasingly Google is surprising by innovation and to built pertinent gadget's but at the same time incrasingly our doubts about how much they dominate our life and invade our privacy. In last year Google enters in the textile industry.

The Project Jacquard is creating textiles woven with grids of conductive yarns that are made with typical manufacturing. Google aspires make smart clothing, furniture and toys and their concern is not only usability but also the durability. They imagine control gadgets with fingers gestures in the clothing. Levi Strauss is also working with Google on this project and they announced that working to integrate touch panels into its clothing.

Microsoft Acess in Engineering - Textile plannig Case

The Microsoft Acess it's a very powerful tool include engineering. This toll is much often forgotten over Excel for example but in reality it is much more powerfull. This platform combines a good database with a great graphical environment for creating forms with objects and methods preconfigured and easy to adapt. Handling the database it's also facilitated, for this task also have a graphical environment to create SQL instructions.

Linde Group Created a Hydrogen Bike

Use the hydrogen (H2) to power vehicles is not a new idea, but it is the first time it os applied in a bike. The H2 has been introduced as an alternative to a commom electrical motor. The battery is replaced with a compact fuel cell and generates its own electricity using a 34-gram cylinder of hydrogen and oxygen it takes from the surrounding air. Currently, this hydrogen fuel cell offers a range of over 100 km.
